Hiking in Aisymi

One of the most beautiful semi-mountainous hiking trails starts from the settlement of Aisymi, 23 km north of Alexandroupolis. The small village, home of the Sarakatsanian Tradition Museum, is surrounded by a forest of unparalleled beauty and offers hiking enthusiasts an amazing mountain trail that connects it to Leptokarya, where the Sarakatsanaion Association has created a representation of a traditional Sarakatsanian settlement, transporting visitors to the living conditions of the Sarakatsans and their daily activities.

The tour among and under the shadows of the beech trees, facing and examining the rare species of fauna that inhabit the area, fills the lungs with fresh air and calms the spirit, giving good mood and relaxation. The landscape is constantly changing, depending on the density and species of foliage, as is the view of the surrounding area from 200-300 metres above sea level. The visitor will need good physical condition, an organized backpack and certainly a battery and space in the mobile phone for the dozens of photos he will be "forced" to take excited by the colors and shapes of the natural landscape spreading in his field of vision.
