Muslim Mosque
Built in the 19th century, the Muslim Mosque of Alexandroupolis is one of its oldest buildings. Made of stone and on two floors, it housed the Ottoman seminary at the same time as its worship service, when the city was still called "Dedeyagats" and was under Ottoman administration.
The elaborate decoration and engraved inscriptions inside the prayer hall are considered great examples of marble sculpture, as is the marble tomb of General Fayek Hussein Pasha on the west side.
