A walk on the pedestrian coastal road

Alexandroupolis has the most beautiful coastal walk and makes it even more enjoyable by turning the coastal streets into pedestrian streets. During the summer months, from the end of May to September, the coastal road is pedestrianized on a very large part of it, from the Municipal Stadium to the port, but also on other nearby streets. Thus, from 8 pm to 1 am, residents and visitors are able to stroll along the beautiful coastal road in comfort and make it a meeting and relaxation point throughout the summer.

Around the Lighthouse, Flisvos, Argo Park, the Monument of the Revolution, along the entire length of the coastal road and the vertical streets, summer afternoons in Alexandroupolis are part of the city's culture. There is no visitor who has departed without associating his stay in Alexandroupolis with the relaxing, refreshing promenade with the Thracian Sea as a backdrop, the sea illuminated every few seconds, as far as the open sea that washes the city from the iconic lighthouse.

The pedestrianization of the coastal road is a tradition of almost half a century, which wants the "balcony" of Alexandroupolis to belong to pedestrians on summer evenings. In recent years, a number of events have been organized in the pedestrianized area, with happenings, music, dance, events, making the walks even more interesting - although nothing can beat the view of the sunset by the sea and the contrast between the endless blue and the golden red sky.
