Picnic at Platanotopos

The shortest escape to nature from the urban fabric is none other than the park in the Platanotopos of Maistro, a short distance from the western boundaries of Alexandroupolis. An area specially designed for rest and relaxation, with picnic tables, vegetation and, of course, the shade of the plane trees that fill the area with their irregular roots and branches, which "hug" and intertwine with each other in a beautiful, natural work of art.

The "Sports and Recreation Park" in Platanotopos is full of flowerbeds, alleys, borders the Natural History Museum and is a small universe of breathing and rejuvenation. It is the usual choice of residents for excursions in the natural environment because of the short distance from the city and the tranquility it offers. The only thing that "demands" from the visitor, in return for his mental uplift, is not to "hurt" it with garbage, but to deposit it in the special collection bins. To offer him the same clean breaths the next time he (of course) comes back.
