Kokkina Vrachia
Kokkina Vrachia
The reddish rocks that define a small stretch of coastline near Alexandroupoli, between the city and Nea Chili, create a beach that differs from the rest of the coastline of the area. It is dotted with pebbles, with difficult access to the spot, but rewarding in terms of the experience of swimming there because of the wonderful scenery and the clear, crystal clear sea that wets it.
The "Red Rocks" attract some more adventurous swimmers and are characterised by a relative danger, as the rocky formations at the edges reach up to ten metres. Compared to the many, successive holiday beaches west of the city, which have organised infrastructure, wide sandy beaches and comfort for bathers, the coast at "Kokkina Vrachia" is completely different. And perhaps that is what makes it attractive for a portion of visitors.
